Maybe it's time

I have always wanted to be a writer.

I am not the most articulate person nor am I one to be using fancy words that can amaze people.

But I do believe I have a story to tell. I think I can really create a good story that people might just one day think it to be interesting enough.

When I was in junior high school, I wrote this romantic novel (only half done cuz I was supposed to be studying for the high school entrance exam) and I hid it in my dad's work drawer.

After I left Taiwan, my dad found the manuscript and actually read it.

He thought it to be not bad.

My dad.

He read a romantic novel that was written by a junior high school girl.

So you can imagine my mortification.

But this somehow give me some encouragement that maybe I can write something that could be interesting.

AS LONG AS I FINISH IT.

I think that's my biggest problem.

Not finishing my story.

From now on, I should really work on a story first. Actually fninishing it. Otherwise, I will just be going on a loop all the time. Not really finishing means the novel will never be complete.

Perhaps start with a lesson. Like a creative writing lesson.

Just to get warmed up.

Our wedding tree

Finally... I unpacked the envelope from our wedding reception desk and got the wedding tree sheet out. It's been almost half a year!

Got the wooden frame from MUJI and put the wedding tree in the frame... And voila!

Ah.. The memory...

I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz

I love the new Jason Mraz album...
of course the melody is great but I just love the lyrics of I won't give up!! Rachel of "glee" sang the song on the show too.

"I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
There's so much they hold

And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
Still looking up.

I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)
We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

Apple TV in the house!

Apple TV has arrived!!

We had been thinking of getting it ever since we helped Goto-sensei set up his Apple TV 2 weeks ago...

Apple TV arrived earlier yesterday morning and the hdmi cable came later cuz I had to order it separately on Amazon. As soon as it arrived, Masahiro convinced me to connect them on my own... At first I thought it's gonna be all fussy and hard but it turns out to be piece of cake!

The setup was done within minutes.., I think it took me more time for finding the jack of hdmi cable behind our TV.. Hee!

We watched a few indie short films and YouTube videos... Fanatastic resolution too.

We just need to get Ethernet cable to make sure the streaming is faster for mirroring... The mirroring for Hulu+ is slow and botchy with just Wifi...

Once it's fixed... Yay Hulu on TV!!!

Annular Solar Eclipse

In Japanese, it's called 金環日食 and people have been making a big fuss over it. The special kind of glasses used to watch the eclipse got hiked up the prices and some of them are simply outrageously expensive, considering they are all made of paper and some black film!

Anyway, Masahiro and I went to bed early last night and got up around 6:50AM this morning to see the eclipse by our house. At first we were just watching it on TV but then as it got closer and closer (the peak time in Tokyo is 7:35AM), we just ran out with our glasses.

It was interesting and we actually got to see the eclipse really clearly with our glasses! I also tried to take photos with my iPhone, through the glasses. It's not too bad!

I'm so glad that I got to witness this once in a life time experience with my hubby!

Here's me trying on the glasses the night before!

It was cloudy and overcast in Tokyo but we could see the ring through the clouds! Too bad it doesn't show on the photo...

This is the photo I took with the iPhone lens through the glasses... Hmmm not bad, eh?!
